Orthodox schools

are those schools of Indian philosophy of the VI century BC, which recognize the Vedas as sacred books and are based on them. Among the orthodox schools that are based only on the Vedas - Mimansa and Vedanta, as well as schools, which in addition to the Vedas recognize also other sources of knowledge: Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Sankhya and Yoga.
