1. Diffuse pollution sources without a clearly defined coordinates of their origin. The pollutants are mainly spread on the land by rain water. Usually non-spot sources of pollution include pesticide and mineral fertilizer flowing on the surface, sewers running-off from the mining industry and leached from the waste disposal sites. Because such sources of pollution are always diffuse it can be impossible to determine what caused the pollution or where it originated.
