Aggressive water

[French agressif – capturing, hostile] – term used for identification of water solutions containing salt, acid and other components with a heightened capacity to chemical destruction of metals, concrete and other materials. Untreated industrial effluents, wastewater from fields contaminated with agrochemical fertilizers, acidic atmospheric depositions (so-called acidic precipitation) possess a heightened aggressiveness. A.w. is unfavorable for existence of many organisms.
